 The experience of establishing the Helping Hands blog provided me with important lessons in online communication and web administration. I also got to know how to select a blogging platform which can match the requirements of our organization and how to modify it to give it a similar appearance to our web site. Blog posts about our services, such as food distribution or tutoring programs, allowed me to realize how crucial the concept of our mission deserves to be conveyed to the masses. This project also gave me more confidence in the use of technology to promote a good cause.

WHY BLOGGER IS THE RIGHT PICK FOR HELPING HANDS

We at Helping Hands were looking to have a simple, free, and easy to modify blog site because we needed our message to be heard and clearly visible to the community. We settled on Blogger, as it has a simple interface, and it is free to host, which is within our non-profit budget. It permitted us to use the colors of our organization and place our logo there, so the blog seemed like a section of our web site. It is also through blogger that we can easily update news, and pass stories within a short time to our supporters.
